I understand that selecting your care provider is one of the most important decisions you make for your baby. One reason many are turning to homebirth is the relationship they develop with their midwife. This relationship is very different from what you would experience with a doctor. The bond that is shared between you and your midwife should be very fulfilling. How, where, and who greets your baby as he or she enters this world will have lasting effects for you and your family.
Everyone’s journey through the miracle of pregnancy and birth is so unique; I offer support in an individual way to assist the woman and her partner in preparing and carrying out their plans for birth. I believe women deserve to be educated and empowered, to trust the wisdom that is wound in their DNA, to ensure that the process of birth unfolds in a safe and sacred space. My services include prenatal visits, home birth and postpartum care plus breastfeeding assistance, family planning counsel, and well woman care. All of the following services are included in my comprehensive and holistic pregnancy care.

Why Choose A CPM?
A Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) is a knowledgeable, skilled and professional independent midwifery practitioner who has met the standards for certification set by the North American Registry of Midwives (NARM) and is qualified to provide the Midwives Model of Care. The CPM is the only midwifery credential that requires knowledge about and experience in out-of-hospital settings.

I believe that pregnancy and birth are normal, healthy and transformational events in women’s lives. Helping women and families through this transition in life is a passion for us! Our goal is to support your healthy pregnancy with information, education, monitoring, attentive listening, and nutritional and herbal counseling.

We support the Midwives Model of Care which is based on the fact that pregnancy and birth are normal life processes. The application of this woman-centered model of care has been proven to reduce the incidence of birth injury, trauma, and cesarean section.
The Midwives Model of Care includes:
• Monitoring the physical, psychological, and social well-being of the mother throughout the childbearing cycle
• Providing the mother with individualized education, counseling, and prenatal care, continuous hands-on assistance during labor and delivery, and postpartum support
• Minimizing technological interventions
• Identifying and referring women who require obstetrical attention
